Chicco High Chair
A Chicco high chair has, first and foremost, its name to recommend it. Chicco has long been a
respected brand name in the area of baby products. One particular model you might want to consider is the Chicco
Polly high chair.
Product Best Features
The Polly model can safely seat babies at 5 months and is one of the best in terms of ease of
use and storage. It is a breeze to set up with no complicated attachments or snagging connections. When not in use,
the chair can be conveniently folded and stored out of the way. The model boasts of being the slimmest in its class
when in the folded position. It is also fairly lightweight at 22 lbs. so you never have to worry about straining
when moving it around. This is a perfect choice for cramped living spaces.
The caster wheels make it even easier to use. You can push the chair almost anywhere when you
need to do something important and to watch over your baby at the same time. The wheels are also a great feature
when you want a change of scenery during meal times.
The Polly model is also known for its versatility. It has an adjustable footrest to ensure that
your baby gets the most comfortable position for his feet. It can also recline at 3 different positions so you can
adjust it depending on your baby’s age and ability to sit up. Its top versatile feature however is its 7 seat
heights. This makes it a great choice if you want to detach the tray so your baby can sit right beside you at a
lower or higher table.
When it comes to cleaning, the Polly Chicco high chair can make wiping food stains easy. It has
tray liners and a vinyl seat pad that can be easily wiped clean with a wet cloth. Its tray is dishwasher safe.
Problem Areas
For some parents, the Polly model may be the best choice especially since it only costs about
$140. There may however be a couple of problem points. One major point of concern is related to cleaning. Although
the model has easy to wipe seats and trays, the tray has a seam where food can get stuck and may have to be cleaned
using water pressure or a pointed object. The model also has a number of different crevices and deep spots where
food can fall and may be difficult to fish out. The tray is also a bit too big to fit in a standard dishwasher
which means it has to be cleaned by hand.
You may also have to pay special attention to the harness and seat recline features. Some babies
may be too small to fit into the five point harness which makes this ideal safety feature useless for them. The
seat recline may also not be a good idea for older babies that can sit up straight. You may have to stuff the back
with cushions for your baby’s comfort.
A Chicco high chair is often always a good buy. Find out first though if the Polly model fits
your specific needs. It may not be the best choice if you are too concerned over cleanliness or perfect fit.
